Garnet Pediatric Therapy is a home-based speech therapy practice that provides services to children from infancy to school age. Therapy is provided in Monmouth County, NJ. Services are now also being offered outdoors at Sticks & Sprouts in Fair Haven, NJ.

Following a complimentary phone consultation, we provide an evaluation. During the evaluation the therapist will collect a detailed history pertaining to communication/feeding concerns, assess your child using formal and informal tools and perform an oral-motor examination. The evaluation helps the therapist formulate appropriate therapy goals and complete a report.

Individualized, evidence-based speech therapy targets expressive (what we say) and receptive (what we understand) language skills, articulation, pragmatic (play and social) language, fluency/stuttering, and oral-motor skills for chewing and swallowing food.

Just like in home-based treatment, your first session will be an evaluation. This allows the therapist to make the best recommendations for a child. Evaluation results and goals will be discussed and a course of therapy may be recommended. Outdoor sessions will be conducted at the Sticks & Sprouts play space in Fair Haven, NJ. where children will have access to a variety of centers, such as a mud kitchen, construction zone, exploration zone, children's garden, and more while working toward their speech and language goals. Research shows that children express up to 5x MORE words and more complex grammatical structures when playing outside compared to inside. That means more communication opportunities to build expressive and receptive language and more repetitions of target words for articulation practice. 

Natural, open-ended materials are versatile tools for imagination and story-telling. They also offer challenges that target critical thinking and problem solving. 

Open-air settings can reduce stress and help children feel relaxed, leading to a more enjoyable and productive therapy session.

Virtual speech therapy via Zoom is available for New Jersey residents.

Garnet Pediatric Therapy is an out-of-network provider. This means payment is required at the time of service. A monthly invoice of paid services is provided, this can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
